HOW TO REACH VENICE

How to reach Venice: Transport in Venice.
Below you will find some general information on how to reach the Historic Centre of Venice and the apartment that you have booked. Remember that we will email you customised information letting you know how to get to the city and to the apartment that you have chosen.

 

4 IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT VENICE:

1) Cars are not able to circulate in Venice’s Historic Centre.  The last useful terminal for parking a car is “Piazzale Roma”.  Beyond that point, you can only move around on foot or by water.

2) In Venice, there are two main methods of moving around by water: via the public transportation known as “vaporetti” - fairly large boats for a large number of people - or via private water taxis, which are quicker and more comfortable but also more expensive.  

3) Google Maps does not function correctly in Venice! I know, for many tourists who are used to moving around using this application, it might seem a serious problem. However, do not worry, follow our instructions and you will reach your apartment quickly. 

4) Mestre is not Venice: Mestre is part of the Comune of Venice but should not be confused with Venice’s Historic Centre.  We are not in the lagoon, there are no canals or gondolas and people move about in cars, just like in any other city.

 

 

WILL YOU BE ARRIVING AT TREVISO’S CANOVA AIRPORT (TSF) AND WISH TO TRAVEL TO YOUR APARTMENT IN VENICE?

Take the ATVO bus from Treviso Airport to Venice (Piazzale Roma).
Ticket price: €12 per person.
Buy tickets at Treviso airport or at the ATVO office in Piazzale Roma.

When you arrive in Piazzale Roma in Venice you have two options for reaching your apartment:
A) Take the vaporetto indicated by the staff at VeniceApartment.com.  It will take you to the stop closest to your apartment. Ticket price: €7.50 per person.
B) Take a private water taxi. Upon request, we can book one for you and it will take you close to your apartment. Variable price upon request.

WILL YOU BE ARRIVING AT VENICE’S MARCO POLO AIRPORT (VCE) AND WISH TO TRAVEL TO YOUR APARTMENT IN VENICE?

VENICE AIRPORT  VENICE (PIAZZALE ROMA)

If you arrive at Venice’s Marco Polo Airport you have 3 options for reaching your apartment:

1) BUS + VAPORETTO (OR TAXI): If you take this option, you will reach Piazzale Roma in Venice by bus and then take a vaporetto (or water taxi) as far as the stop closest to your apartment:

Take the ACTV bus no. 5 or the ATVO bus from Venice Airport to Venice (Piazzale Roma).
Cost of the ACTV no. 5 bus ticket: €7.50 per person.
Cost of the ATVO bus ticket: €10 per person.
Buy tickets at Venice airport or at the ACTV/ ATVO office in Piazzale Roma.

2) ALILAGUNA: public boat that goes from Venice airport, across the lagoon, and arrives at the Historic Centre of the city.

Take the Alilaguna as far as the stop indicated in advance by the staff at VeniceApartment.com.
Ticket price: minimum of €12 per person: maximum €25 per person, depending on the route.
Buy tickets at Venice airport or the San Marco and Rialto stop in Venice.

3) PRIVATE WATER TAXI
Take a private water taxi. Upon request, we can book one for you and it will take you close to your apartment.

SANTA LUCIA TRAIN STATION (PIAZZALE ROMA)    APARTMENT

When you arrive at Venice train station, you have two options for reaching your apartment:
A) Take the vaporetto indicated by the staff at VeniceApartment.com.  It will take you to the stop closest to your apartment. Ticket price: €7.50 per person.
B) Take a private water taxi. Upon request, we can book one for you and it will take you close to your apartment. Variable price upon request.
